Tickets

  • You can buy urban tickets in many ways:

    • on the at bus app

    • at official ticket offices or authorized retailers

    • from ticket machines

    • through the TABNET app

    • at Coop.fi stores that sell them

    • via SMS: just send a message to 4880105 with the name of the city you’re in (only works with Tim, Vodafone, or Wind)

    • with the Tip Tap system on board

    • via Blink

TIPS: if you need more information, these two pages may help you.

    • how to purchase

    • ticket and passes

  • The paper ticket, whether “single” owhetheret,” must be validated in the machine when you get on the bus.

Keep the ticket in good condition so it remains readable throughout the journey, and show it if requested. It does not expire and cannot be transferred to others.

Note: If the validator doesn’t work due to lack of ink (it happens sometimes!), you must write the date and time of the start of your journey on the ticket with a pen.

TIPS: you can find more information about this in the links below.

  • You can only buy tickets for the city of Florence.

TIPS: if you need more information, click here: https://www.at-bus.it/en/retailers/firenze and check the box for “Ticket machines”

  • An unused paper ticket is valid as long as it is kept in good condition and remains readable.
An unused digital ticket is valid for 12 months.

TIPS: for more details, visit the “ticket and passes page” page https://www.at-bus.it/en/buy/ticket-and-passes

  • Before getting on board, open the app and follow these steps:

    • go to the “Not activated” section

    • select the ticket

    • click on “Activate ticket”

    Note:

    • on some phones, you must first enable system settings directly from the app.

    • the ticket can only be used by the person who sees it in the TABNET app. It cannot be sent or activated for someone else

TIPS: check the dedicated page: https://www.at-bus.it/en/howtopurchase

  • SMS tickets can only be purchased for urban buses.
On Elba Island, you can buy them for both urban and extra-urban buses.

TIPS: for more details, check here: https://www.at-bus.it/en/buy/ticket-and-passes

  • You should buy a fast extra-urban ticket.

Note: there are two lines from Florence to Siena: line 131R is a fast, direct route, while line 131 makes intermediate stops. If your journey does not require stopping in between, you can take either line with the fast extra-urban ticket.

TIPS: you can find all the information here: https://www.at-bus.it/en/ticket/suburban-tickets/ordinary-ticket

  • You should buy a fast extra-urban ticket.
The lines you need to take are:

    • 50G: Grosseto – Florence

    • 51G: Grosseto – Siena

TIPS: you can find all the information here: https://www.at-bus.it/en/ticket/suburban-tickets/ordinary-ticket

  • Children who are under one meter in height travel for free if they are accompanied by an adult and do not occupy a seat.
If there are multiple children under one meter, only one travels for free; for the others, a ticket must be purchased.

TIPS: for more information, check here: https://www.at-bus.it/en/transport-children
