Cortona on the Move 2026

From July 16 to November 1, 2026, the international photography festival Cortona On The Move returns to Cortona, in the heart of Tuscany.

The theme of the 16th edition of Cortona On The Move will be "Beautiful Country": a project curated by the new artistic director Renata Ferri, inviting visitors to look with fresh eyes at what surrounds us, telling the story of Italy over recent decades through landscapes, collective memory, and social transformations. Because, ultimately, rediscovering one's own country also means reinterpreting the way we look at it.

The Cortona On The Move international photography festival has been held in Cortona, in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, since 2011. A leading name in international photographic production, the festival is a point of reference for photographers, curators, authors, and critics, as well as for the public. With each edition, Cortona On The Move continues its exploration of the evolution of photographic language, placing increasing emphasis on the production of original and previously unpublished content.

Settimana Santa – The project

The collaboration between at and Cortona On The Move continues again this year: this has given rise to "Settimana Santa" ("Holy Week"), an exhibition by photographer Giulia Mangione and writer Ivan Carozzi, on display at the Fortezza del Girifalco for the entire duration of the festival.
