Due to the temporary closure of a section of the SS68 Val di Cecina, service on line 31 is suspended until further notice.

Spanning 31 kilometers of scenic hilltops and breathtaking views typical of Tuscany, this route between San Gimignano and Volterra was previously accessible only by car or on foot for the more adventurous. Now, you can experience this stunning journey by bus.
 

Service Details

  • The new line will operate on a trial basis every day during the summer season, from Thursday, June 5th to Saturday, November 1st, with three trips per day (one in the morning, one after lunch, and one in the afternoon) in both directions,
  • the fare for this suburban fast route is € 5.50
  • From San Gimignano: Departures from Piazza Montemaggio at 9:15 AM, 2:45 PM, and 17:45 PM.
  • From Volterra: Departures from Piazza Martiri della Libertà at 10:15 AM, 3:30 PM, and 19:15 PM.
  • The journey takes approximately 45 minutes, with intermediate stops at various points of interest, including Castel San Gimignano and Montemiccioli.
