Mixed Fare Lines
According to the classification of the Tuscany Region “a line is defined as urban or suburban based on the prevalence of the service provided”*.
What does it mean? It means that a line can have a mixed fare and therefore a different ticket or pass, depending on the route you intend to take.
Check here the lines involved to avoid unpleasant fines.
Contactless payment on board: on mixed fare lines, make 2 taps, one tap when you get on and one tap when you get off to allow the correct fare calculation.
*Based on the classification of the Tuscany Region, a line is defined as urban or suburban according to the prevalence of the service provided. The regional tariff regulation defines, as general terms of reference, that in the event that an urban line extends beyond 5 km from the centre of a major city/town or 10 km from a provincial capital or 15 km in the case of the Metropolitan Area of Florence, the suburban rate shall be applied to the excess portion of the line. The characteristics of the service and the relative tariffs applied are therefore unrelated to the classification of the line.
