Siena, saturday 4th and sunday 5th March 2023 "Strade Bianche" cycling race

On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 March 2023, 'Strade Bianche', a road cycling race will be held in Siena, involving disruptions to the road network and routes of our urban and suburban routes due to the temporary closure of some roads.

DISRUPTIONS DETAIL:

  • from 1.00 p.m. on Friday to 6.00 a.m. on Sunday, Piazza del Campo will be closed to traffic: line 590 with services departing from Porta Tufi will continue its route in the direction of Logge del Papa passing through Strada dei Tufi, Cerchiaia, Valli and Porta Romana to resume its regular route;
  • from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Via Esterna Fontebranda, Via Fontebranda, Piazza Indipendenza, Via Banchi di Sotto and Strada di Pescaia (altezza Casone) will be closed to traffic with changes to the routes of urban lines s3, s21 and s54
  • the s30, s3, s33, 104, 110, 116, 122, 51G and 51F lines coming from Rosia, Sovicille and Grosseto, once they have reached Colonna S. Marco, will turn around and return to the dual carriageway using the Siena Nord exit and proceed along viale Giovanni Paolo II°, via Lombardi, Ponte Malizia, Stazione, via Don Minzoni to reach piazza Gramsci and via Tozzi;
  • lines s30, s31, s33, 104, 140 and 51G departing from via Tozzi/piazza Gramsci in the direction of Rosia, Sovicille and Grosseto, pass through via Franci, via Montluc, Porta Ovile, Cerchiaia, Massetana Romana, Colonna San Marco to resume the regular route
  • lines 104, 110, 116, 122 and 51F departing from the bus station in the direction of Rosia, Sovicille and Casciano di Murlo, from Via Lombardi proceed along Strada Fiume, the entrance to the motorway in the direction of Grosseto using the Siena Ovest exit to reach the stops at Colonna San Marco before resuming their regular route. Lines 112 and 114 coming from the Pescaia Terminal in the direction of Strada Massetana travel along Via Ricasoli, Via Sauro, Via Montluc, Porta Ovile, Porta Pispini, Via Roma and Cerchiaia and resume their regular route;
  • from 12.00 noon to 6.00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, via delle Regioni (section between the intersections with via Liguria and Strada di Vico Alto) will be closed to traffic with changes to the routes of the s7 and s77 lines
  • from 5.00 a.m. Friday until the end of the requirements linked to Sunday's event, the area of Viale Maccari and Viale dei Mille will be closed for bus parking.
